Guruswamy is worth Rs. 2 crore of assets while the former Deputy Chief Minister Siddharamaiah's assets are estimated to be only Rs. 1 crore. Shivabasappa (JD - S), who is making a debut in election politics is richer than Siddharamaiah. This came to light when the three contestants for the Chamundeshwari by - election submitted the affidavits regarding their family assets to the Returning Officer. Considering the family assets, the JD (S) - BJP candidate Shivabasappa is the richest among the three. Guruswamy occupies the second place while Siddharamaiah stands last. 
The assets of Siddharamaiah have not undergone much change after the previous election. It was nearly Rs. 1 crore during the last election and now it is Rs. 1.06 crore. He is said to be having some liabilities but not included them in the declaration of assets as it concerns the joint family assets. At present, Siddharamaiah has Rs. 75,000 in hand along with Rs. 24,449 in Central Bank, Rs. 5,412 in State Bank, and Rs. 13,092 in Syndicate Bank. Added to this, he has 350 grams of gold valued at Rs. 2.10 lakh, 2 kgs of silver valued at Rs. 16,000 and household articles of about Rs. 1.50 lakh. Apart from these, he owns a car priced at Rs. 10.46 lakh, a house jointly owned with his wife Parvati in CHBSC Layout in Bangalore, valued at Rs. 16.44 lakh, a site worth Rs. 39.58 lakh in Bheemajyothinagar and 4. 4 acres agricultural land worth Rs. 2.58 lakh in Hosahalli in Mysore taluk. The declaration shows a liability of Rs. 20 lakh in his name, which includes Rs. 15.07 lakh in Vijaya Bank and Rs. 4.25 lakh loan on car. Parvati Siddharamaiah has a bank account of Rs. 28,000, 540 gms gold worth Rs. 3.25 lakh, 4.5 kgs of silver, and household articles worth Rs. 60,000. She has Rs. 1.87 lakh in Canara Bank, Rs. 1 lakh in Syndicate Bank and Rs. 11,443 deposit in Corporation Bank. She owns a Rs. 44 lakh worth flat in Malleshwaram and has a loan of Rs. 4.70 lakh, Rs. 15 lakh loan on the house. It was declared that she had extended a loan of Rs. 45 lakh to one Jagadish. No deposit for Guruswamy: Guruswamy owns 31 acres of agricultural land worth Rs. 1.25 crore in Ayarahalli Village, another worth Rs. 5 lakh in Chikkahalli village, a Rs. 4 lakh worth site in Bangalore along with one worth Rs. 27 lakh in Agrahara, Mysore, a house worth Rs. 24 lakh, another house in Ayarahalli worth Rs. 50,000, 130 gms of gold valued at Rs. 80,000 and a tractor worth Rs. 1.80 lakh. He doesn't have any deposits. His wife Geetha owns 9.31 acres of agricultural land worth Rs. 60 lakh in Ayarahalli, gold ornaments valued at Rs. 1.40 lakh. Shivabasappa owns no house: The JD (S) - BJP candidate Shivabasappa has no house in his name. The house he lives is in the joint names of his wife and children. In his bank account, there is Rs. 3.71 lakh, Rs. 56,000 in bonds, Rs. 5.12 lakh in NSCs, Rs. 1.14 lakh worth vehicles, 250 gms of gold valued at Rs. 2 lakh along with other assets worth Rs. 41.31 lakh. Added to these, he owns 9.37 acres of agricultural land worth Rs. 25 lakh in Someshwarapura, site worth Rs. 20 lakh, a 40'x60' site in Kuvempunagar and a Rs. 20 lakh worth site in Nachanahallipalya. His wife Rajamma owns a Rs. 32 lakh worth house in Lakshmipuram, 3 acre agricultural land worth Rs. 3 lakh, a site in J. P. Nagar and 500 gms of gold worth Rs. 4 lakh. Among his children second son Guruswamy owns assets worth Rs. 1.73 crore, first son Rudraswamy has assets worth Rs. 1.07 crore and the last son Shiva Kumar has Rs. 24.85 lakh.
