Indrajit, Printer, Publisher and Proprietor of the popular Kannada weekly tabloid Lankesh Patrike sacked his sister - editor Gowri Lankesh angered by the stand she took while supporting the Citizens Forum For Peace in fighting with the Police to hand over the body of the Naxal revolutionaries Saketh Rajan and Shivalingaiah, who were killed by the Police in an alleged encounter in Chikkamagalur district on Feb 6th.
The burning issue was erupted between the siblings when Indrajit took strong objection to the stand Gowri Lankesh took in showing a soft corner to the Naxal activities.
Indrajit alleged that Gowri was openly supporting the Naxals when she fought for handing over bodies of Saketh and Shivalingaiah to the CFFP to conduct the last rites. Saying his sister's stand was totally against the ideals of their father P. Lankesh, who all along opposed any kind of violence for a social cause, Indrajit sacked Gowri from the Editorship of Lankesh Patrike.
Both have filed complaint and counter-complaint in Basavanagudi Police Station with serious allegations. Indrajit, who filed the complaint first, alleged that Gowri had stolen computers and other things from the office. But Gowri's complaints are of even more serious nature. She has complained that Indrajit has threatened her with a revolver, according to ACP Ramasubba.
