Released:

In order to increase the richness of the Beary culture and beary literature and to satisfy the thirst of the beary music lovers for Beary music, Aksa audio, has released recently to the market a Cassette titled "alikaat". At a programme held in the premises of Hotel Mangalore International, the deputy Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation Sri.Basheer Baikampadi released the cassette.

Inaugurated:

The Director of the Yenepoya dental College Sri.P.C.M.Kunhi inaugurated the volleyball tournament, organized under the auspices of the Mangalore University today, at the Univeristy College premises. On this occasion eminent lawyer Sri. Ivan D'souza, Principal of the University College Professor K. Narayana Nair, V.C. of Mangalore University Prof. S. Gopal and others were present.

Inaugurated:

The DYSP Mangalore Sri.T.C.M.Shareef, at the Palke Krishna Achar Hall, inaugurated the Mangalore Malayali Students federation, this past week. This federation has been constituted to bring about unity and to build a common forum for the Malayali students studying in the various colleges in Mangalore and to build a balanced personality among them. Every year hundreds of students leave their homes in Kerala and travel to Mangalore to take up higher education, and in the course of their transit, they are required to adjust to the changes in culture, food and harmonize with the local people. The federation aims at helping the students in achieving this.

Speaking on this occasion Rev. Fr. Joseph Mampallikunnel, stressed on the education, knowledge and personality a human being should develop to assimilate into the local society and at the same time to prevent one from losing their rich cultural heritage. Speaking on the occasion the president of the Kerala samajam Sri. TK Rajan wished that the federation developed a strong base and contributed to the development of the society.

On this occasion the director of the Yenepoya Medical College Prof. P.C.M. Kunhi, Former MUDA chairman Sri. Suresh Ballal, Eminent Lawyer and president of the DK bus workers union Sri. S.P. Chengappa, President of the federation Sri. Santhosh Kumar, Secretary Sri. Tony Mathew and others were present.

PWD Minister in Mangalore:

At a review meeting of the progress of the Public works, undertaken by the Public works department, the Minister for Public Works Sri. Dharam Singh took serious exception of the slow rate of progress of the developmental works in the district. At the meeting held at the circuit house he also stated that the government has approved several works and the necessary funds too had been released for the same. He also said that in order to ensure transparency into the utilization of funds, a handbook had been developed, which would provide a deep insight into the working of the PWD. The Minister in charge DK district, Sri. Ramantha Rai, MLA's Sri.Yogish Bhat, Sri. Vijay Kumar Shetty, Sri. Abhaychandra, MUDA chairman Sri. Thejomaya, officials of the PWD and others were present.
