usually taken courses. Fashion design, Interior design &
Garment design which already enjoy distinction in the developed

KARAVALI
COLLEGE OF INTERIOR DECORATION, in response to acute
shortage of University affiliated degree Colleges offering
professional education in the field of Fashion Design, Garment
design and Interior Design in India and abroad, specially
in underdeveloped and developing has been offering highly
innovative and skill oriented courses like Degree and Diploma
programmes in Interior Design, Fashion Design and Garment
Design.

These
courses are highly practical and workshops related and provide
hands-on experience to the students in the subjects and
are tailored to provide a solid foundation to build a successful
career in the booming field of designing. Employment opportunities
are high as there is an acute shortage of professionals
in these fields. Further they can even start their own business
including consultation business as these courses equip the
students with the professional skills. Karavali College
of Interior Decoration have become immensely popular so
much so that it has attracted students from all over India
and even from foreign countries like Germany, Uganda, Srilanka,
Nepal and Bangladesh.
The
faculty of the college consists of Designers, Architects,
and Textile Engineers with excellent academic standards.
Visiting Lecturers also form an important part of faculty,
which includes reputed practitioners, experts and consultants.
In order to guarantee a high quality and up-to-date study
programme, Guest Lectures, Viva & Seminars are organized
and regular quality control meetings are held to analyze
input from our faculty, academic advisory board and feedback
from students.
LIBRARY:
The
College has an up-to-date library with large number of national
and international books and journals in the relevant subjects.
The college is also getting resource assistance from Mangalore
University library. The library has a separate reference
room in which students can put their raw ideas into prospective.
STUDIO/
LAB/ WORKSHOP: The College offers opportunity for every
student to practice in CAD applications, digital designing,
modeling and layout visualization etc. Models are taught
with scientific analysis and special emphasis is given for
design subjects in the studio, which plays a very important
role in these professional fields. Cutting, Sewing, finishing,
pattern-making machineries are equipped in the lab to enrich
practical knowledge in the fashion and garment design subjects.
PRACTICALS/
PROJECT REPORTS/ CASE STUDIES/ FACTORY VISITS: During
the course, students are exposed to the practical aspects
by case studies, site visits, and project report of interior
projects. For fashion and garment design students, pattern
making and designing are held on a regular basis along with
fashion shows and factory visits. Students have to independently
collect all the required data, samples and should critically
analyze the requirement of the industry, which will help
them to pursue their career.
ACCOMODATION
& OTHER FACILITIES
HOSTEL: Boys and girls are provided with separate hostels
with all basic facilities. Importance is given for a strict
social discipline and security of the students. Warden resident
in the hostel ensures that all the needs of the students
are taken care and to create homely atmosphere.
INTERNET:
College offers Internet facilities to all the students
in the campus on very reasonable charges. Students can send
and receive mails, can use Internet for academic and all
other required purpose to improve their knowledge and life
standard. Any latest development in Interior Design or related
fields can be studied immediately with the use of Internet.

Polytechnic/ Equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate. (40%
is sufficient for SC/ST candidates) Admission to the course
is open to foreign nationals also possessing educational
qualification.
FEES: Admission Fees: Rs. 50000 (ONLY DURING ADMISSION)
Semester Fees: Rs.12500 (TO BE PAID EVERY SEMESTER)

DIPLOMA IN INTERIOR DESIGN AND DECORATION (Offered by
the college) 2 years regular programme (4 semesters) Eligibility:
Xth standard /equivalent Fees: Semester fees 12,500/- (TO
BE PAID EVERY SEMESTER) .
FASHION
DESIGNING: 1) B.Sc. FASHION DESIGNING: (AFFILIATED TO
MANGALORE UNIVERSITY) 3 Years regular programme (6 semesters)
+ 6 months compulsory internship in a limited company approved
by Mangalore University.

Duly filled in application should be sent along with a crossed
demand draft of Rs. 200/- (non refundable) payable at Mangalore,
drawn in favor of KARAVALI COLLEGE OF INTERIOR DECORATION.
