We get quite a few emails from our visitors every single day. Some are requests, some are reporting problems, some contribute their poems, articles, movie reviews, some want to help us, some are sick and tired of us!. Feedback are usually good.. sometimes really good and very rarely outright nasty.

OurKarnataka.Com (OKC) Team would like to say "Thank you, All!!" and we apologize if you didn't get any response for your email. We try to answer as many emails as we possibly can and we have tried very hard to reply as soon as possible and to everyone. Since the whole show is managed in our spare-time some of you may not have received a reply.

So, we have decided to publish at least a few of the feedbacks in a page. We would also rate a "feedback of the month" and hopefully send out a prize!!

How can you compare these sorts of customs to an art like yakshagana?  Do you have at least basic knowledge about Yakshagana? 'Achaara' is different and 'Kale' is differrent. In south kanara there is something called 'Bhootharaadhane'. Bhootharadhane is an 'achaara' and Yakshagaana is a 'Kale'.
OKC: Other than watching a dozen yakshaganas every year for about 12-15 years, and spending my first 22 years in south canara, I do not know anything much. We are sorry if we made any glaring mistakes. But would you be kind enough to tell us what exactly made you angry ????

Comments : Carvallo is the most exhilarating book I have ever read. There is another
book titled 'parisarada kathegalu' which is a collections of episodes experienced by KP Tejeswi. One of the episodes,  Mundanna from Carvallo comes back to real life and questions the author about his characterization in the Novel. That must be very unique experience and not sure if any other author has seen that happen to him!!!

I was really thrilled to see the learn Thulu section in your site. For quite some time I was desperately looking for information regarding this but couldn't find any. Thanks a lot for introducing it and I hope you will continue the same. I have a request. Can you provide the pdf format of these classes so it can be downloaded easily. I couldn't see the kannada version of the tutorial in Netscape browser but the English version is starting

Comments : I want to add some points about u'r material..  first of all we know completely about veerappan , viko, samy,... we never thought them as human beings. as u told veerappan is a toy.. main stick is with politicians. i won't agree that we Tamilians are not learning kannada and speak in kannada. we r always try to learn and speak in kannada. i won't accept institutions in Tamil Nadu are not taking Kannadigas.. fact is that no one is going there to learn.. since u have lot of colleges here itself. Cauvery water issue is only a politics. when u have excess water u will release to Tamil Nadu. since Tamil people population is more we can see more Tamil films running here. after all theaters want to make revenue. please never put material like this which hurts others feelings. never ever hurt others feelings. above all always think we r Indians. thanks

OKC: Hello Aparna, Thank you for your interest in Kannada and I hope that will open at least a few eyes of people in Bangalore  spending decades there and being proud that they do not know Kannada!! We will start a Kannada Learning center very soon. We started working on it and wanted to make it the best learning tool in town and hence the delay. We will start with a simple learning section like other pages.

Subject : Review of the movie H2O
Readers would have already heard a lot about this movie, would have read quite a
few articles, even in OurKarnataka.Com. After a long gap a big budget multi star cast movie is being released in Kannada. Naturally expectations will be high. But upendra's screenplay fails to express the message in a proper fashion except for the climax scene.

This is indeed quite a different movie compared to upendra's other movies. No powerful dialogs (vulgar dialogs). Upendra is trying to build up an image like Rajanikanth, by adding few unwanted gimmicks in the beginning of the movie. The only satisfactory about this movie is, it is not a remake, couple of songs is good and last but not the least to mention brilliant photography. 

Screenplay should have been more powerful. Audience can clearly count the number of dialogs given to Priyanka. It may be 10-12 dialogs in the entire movie. The song "Dil illde" doesn't fit to this movie at all. Lyrics indicates that the hero doesn't like people who Love and ironically it is a love story, it is very hard to digest to make out how this song fits in. I think probably they wanted to show how upendra drinks and dances. Overall it is not a great movie, it is very difficult to rate this movie. Neither good nor bad.

Comments : Yes, I agree with what Veeresh says. But the problem is availability of Kannada movies. We can get the latest movies from other languages but not a single Kannada movie. They have a very old list of movies and when we ask for Kannada movies, we get the response "No body is coming for Kannada movies". I do not know whether he is right or wrong, but it is true that we face lot of difficulty to get Kannada movies. First we should ask for Kannada movies here and then for things like subtitles and other enhancements. Till last year we were not having good Kannada sites, but now we are having many Kannada places on the Internet. So same thing might apply to movies also.

Comments : Just read this article http://www.ourkarnataka.com/Articles/lee/lee_men_want.htm and I had mixed feelings about the subject and author. And it looked like it had a feminist overtone to it. I thought the author generalized the case of "seeking men" a little too much! And I have quite a few examples of "seeking women" being so hard and fast about the "specifications" of their future soul mates. But I do respect the authors intentions. I also thought that the articles was out of place. I have read few of Leena's articles. Some of them are good and some are quite outlandish.

Comments : Respected Sir, I would like to request the concerned people who involved in production and popularization of Kannada films in India and at abroad, to incorporate English subtitles in all kannada movies. So that it will be very useful for non Kannadigas and others to watch kannada movies and it also encourages us to take our non-kannadiga friends to watch movies. This will definitely broaden kannada movie viewer-ship. Inclusion of English subtitles also useful for peoples with hearing disability. Please again, I request the kannada fans who can influence should act and make kannada movies available with English subtitles. I hope this trend will soon become popular and more profitable.

OKC: we try our best to keep the individual file sizes below 50Kilobytes. But Kannada fonts take way more space than regular English fonts.
