As destiny snatched him rather prematurely, a long term desire of late Vishnuvardhan could not be accomplished.
Vishnu was learnt to have decided to spend the rest of his life in Mysore, his hometown. His health condition could have been the main reason. Down with acute diabetes, he reportedly used to frequent Vikram Hospital here.
He was also on regular physiotherapy for an abscess on his leg. Probably that necessitated Vishnu's continued stay in city. Having stayed continuously from Dec. 14 to 29 at Kings Kourt Hotel here in Mysore, he had in fact purchased an apartment here for a permanent stay.
Flat No. 115 in Brigade Tranquil Apartments in Yadavagiri 1st Stage had been reportedly purchased by Vishnu. It was probably decided to shift to his new house at 9 am on 31st of December morning along with his wife Bharathi, daughter and son – in - law. All the necessary preparations had been completed including purchase of essential items for dwelling.
Gas connection:
Vishnu had reportedly submitted an application to the Deputy Director, Department of Food and Civil Supplies at 7.15 pm on Dec. 29 seeking an LPG connection under VIP special quota stating his intention to stay in city permanently.
Accordingly Nagesh, Proprietor of Siddalingeshwara Gas Service in Gokulam III Stage, had been instructed to offer a gas connection to Vishnu.
Signature:
When Nagesh sought his signature on the application form and consumer card, Vishnu reportedly said "I am conversant with 8 to 10 languages. In which one shall I sign", but chose to do it in chaste Kannada and signed the papers at two places.
The last photo:
Vishnu and Bharathi reportedly arrived at the Gas Agency at about 7.45 pm on Dec. 29 in a red lnnova car. Nagesh extended a warm welcome to the couple and completed the formalities of giving the gas connection.
Vishnu reportedly offered a chocolate to Kshiti, daughter of Nagesh and cuddled her affectionately. He even posed for a photograph with Nagesh and Kshiti. That was the last photo of Vishnu, it is learnt.
If everything had gone on as intended, Vishnu and family would have shifted to the new apartment yesterday but fate had arranged a journey elsewhere for Vishnu. Longing to spend the evening of his life in his home - town Mysore, Vishnu's desire was left unfulfilled.
