EC's decision should
be binding, says Deve Gowda:
Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has condemned the
Union Cabinet's decision to refer the Election
Commission's decision on Gujarat polls to the President.
He has termed this decision "unwarranted" and
felt that the Election Commission's ruling should have
been binding. A constitutional authority like the Election
Commission cannot sway to the tune of the ruling BJP as
the latter had their own vested interest in conducting
early polls.
