    A publicity stunt, says D T Jayakumar:
    Former Minister and JD (S) leader D. T. Jayakumar termed the launching of Rs. 100 crore-development programme by Chief Minister S. M. Krishna in Nanjangud as a publicity stunt. He flayed Textile Minister M. Mahadev for misleading the public and also Chief Minister S. M. Krishna.

    Committee report on border row is final:
    Veteran JD (U) leader and MLC M.P.Prakash demanded that the Union Government implement the Mahajan Committee report on the border row. He urged the Chief Minister not to lead an all-party delegation or participate in discussion on the Mahajan Committee report. He said the Mahajan Committee report clearly stated that Belgaum and Kasargod district should be part of Karnataka.

    Varsity signs MoU with KSCA:
    The Mysore University signed a memorandum of undertaking with the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) for the development of Mysore University Platinum Jubilee Cricket Stadium at Gangothri. Vice-Chancellor S.N.Hegde and KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel signed the MoU. The pact would help develop cricket at moffusil-level, they said.

    Railwaymen stage dharna in City:
    Employees of the Indian Railway Loco Runningmen Organisation staged a dharna near Divisional Railway Manager's office to fulfill their long-pending demands. They urged the authorities to prepare the divisional seniority and implement as per the court's orders and avoid delay in filling vacancies.

    Infosys pat for Engg College:
    Infosys Technologies Chairman N. R. Narayana Murthy lauded the research work taken up by Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore. He was speaking to members of the Governing Council and heads of departments of SJCE at Mysore.

    Nilgai cow dies in City Zoo:
    A Nilgai cow and its calf at the Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens died following a fight. They were seen fighting, which resulted in a cow and a calf sustaining several injuries. Zoo veterinarian's attempt to save the animals proved futile. The sources said that fight among Nilgai is a common feature noticed during the breeding season.

    Forum to check stray dogs:
    "People for Animals" of Mysore, would take up programmes to check the increasing population of stray dogs in residential areas of the city. The PFA would take up a programme to sterilize stray dogs to check the uncontrolled breeding, which has caused concern to the residents.

    Sedam flays Krishna led Cong Government:
    BJP State president Basavaraj Patil Sedam said the 18-month-old S. M. Krishna led Congress Government has failed in all fronts. He said the Congress has failed miserably in the field of education. Almost all statements and orders passed by the Education Minister are flouted. He also said the irresponsible statements made by the Education Minister Vishwanath has given room for confusions among the teachers.
