RELIEF FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS: The
Karnataka Vishwakarma Association has contributed Rs.5101/-
to the P.M relief fund for the Gujarat quake victims.
The Rotary Mysore West has sent relief material to people
affected by the recent quake. The Club has sent truckloads
of relief materials.

PAINTER TO HELP QUAKE VICTIMS: The Black Friday Monster
earthquake, which snuffed out many lives and rendered
countless homeless, has had a painter from Mysore picking
up his brush to wipe out pain and agony of the victims.
Basavaraju Hiremath has organized a painting exhibition
at CAVA Art Gallery in Mysore to help the unfortunate
by selling his priced collection of paintings.

UNIQUE STONE RELIC OF BASAVESHWARA FOUND: M.S.Krishnamurthy,
Professor of Archaeology, University of Mysore have brought
unique stone relic of Basaveshwara, first of its kind
known to history to light. The sculpture, carved on a
pillar of the Navaranga of Veerabhadreshwara temple at
Gangavadi of Chamarajanagar district, dated to the 17th
century A.D represents a Yogi sitting in padmasana, inside
a triangle, worshipping "Isthalinga".

"NABBING VEERAPPAN IS NOT EASY"-R.R.GOPAL: R.R.Gopal,
who was assigned the role of emissary by the TN and Karnataka
Governments to rescue Rajkumar spoke to media persons
after deposing before TADA Court as a witness at Mysore.
Reacting to the claims of the STF, Gopal said the bandit
was well versed in escaping from the dragnet. He also
said that he had done his work as a journalist, meeting
the brigand at his hideout and "now it is left to the
police".

BLOCK ROAD: Activists of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha
Sangha staged a rail roko near Naguvanahalli urging the
union government to withdraw from WTO agreement and protesting
the agriculture and exim policy. State KRRS vice president

the activists.

The NIE bagged 22 ranks in the engineering examinations
of University of Mysore held during August and September
last.

BJP MLC DEMANDS CBI PROBE: BJP MLC G.Madhusudhan demanded
a CBI probe into the alleged misuse of more than 95 tonnes
of gelatin, which posed a threat to national security.
He charged that the gelatin drawn for link Canal tunnel
work in Mandya was supplied to Veerappan, for illegal
quarrying in Chamarajanagar and parts of Kakanapura.
