Sick
baby girl disowned by mother, rescued:
A newborn baby girl was abandoned by her mother as she was
suffering from a serious ailment. The police, who traced
the mother, handed over the child back to her grandmother.
Suvarnamma, who delivered the child at a private hospital,
disowned the baby when she found that the baby had a
growth on her back. Doctors had told her that the growth
on the baby's back was dangerous and demanded medical
attention. The mother thought it fit to disown the baby.
She is said to have bribed the attendant at the hospital
to bury the child alive. However, the attendant, instead
of killing the child, handed her over to an old lady.
Congress Women's Wing leader Rohini Nagaraj, a former

complaint, the parents were traced and the baby was handed
over to the grandmother.
