Dear friends,
Supreme court has given a interim order.
1.PGET 01' Medical candidates are given 150 additional seats which were remaining unfilled in the private medical colleges.
2. Out of these 150 there are about 80-85 seats in major subjects.
3. Supreme court has directed the state government to complete the process of counseling and admission on or before 31'st march 2002 so that this year will not be zero year.
4. The MCI Regulations should be implemented from the next academic year on the basis of 50-50, branchwise.
5. The judgment rendered in medical PG. courses equally applicable to dental PG courses.   Thanking You
PGA Group.

Dear Friends,
The Petition filed by impleading applicants has been accepted by the hon'ble Supreme court and it was heard on 25-02-02. Our counsel has argued that if the process of admission is not concluded by 31-03-02, the university may declare 2001-02 as zero year.

Fortunately the court is convinced about our apprehension and therefore decided to give a final hearing to the main matter on 13-03-02. In all probability the hon'ble Supreme court will give it's verdict on or around 13-03-02. We request everybody to be patient and courageous. Our advocates are trying their best to save our academic year. Thanking You.   PGA Group.

Dear Friends, Our application for vacation of stay has been considered by the Supreme Court and we are permitted to address our arguments on 22-02-02. The result of this hearing shall be updated on the site on 22nd night or 23rd morning. Filing of our application in the Supreme Court has no bearing on the process of counseling. We are not aware as to why the counseling is getting delayed. Thanking You, PGA.

14th February 2002
Dear friends,
As we were kept in the dark so as you, we were not able to get any official information from either the RGUHS or the DME and hence not able to update the site.     Our case has been filed in the Supreme court on 11-02-02. It may be taken up anytime from now. Let's all be optimistic and hope that it will be taken up and a favorable verdict delivered before the commencement of the counseling. Counseling dates may be notified in the news papers by the DME very shortly.    Thanking you
PGA Group.

Yes it's very true that we had not updated the site for the past 10 days, sorry for that, but for your information we are unable to get any information from either RGUHS OR DME.We are being kept in the dark so as you.
As you know Dr RR Patil had won the case for us in the high court. Then he had just filed a caveat in the supreme court so that he will be informed if any related case comes to the court's notice. so it is the pvt managements who have pulled Dr RR Patil to the supreme court and not the vice-versa. Dr RR Patil never had the intention of prolonging the case.
Now the ball is in the DME's court. As a last measure we have filed a case(152 students) in the
court pleading it to vacate the stay. It was filed on 11-02-02. It may come before the court anytime from now. If it comes before the counseling dates and accepts our plea then it's well and good or else that's it -nothing more can be done for this year. This plea of our's to vacate the stay has nothing to do with the counseling dates. We are also not sure about why these people are not coming out with dates. They are probably taking legal advice from the law ministry to proceed with. Since certain information are all oral statements we were not able to update it on the site. kindly excuse us for that.

We are also aware of the zero year issue and definitely don't want to disrupt the counseling
procedure even if it is 20-80 for this year. Hope you would understand our plight also.We are also as much worried by this time delay as much as you are.  Bye for now, and please keep in touch
PGA Group.

2nd February 2002
Dear Friends,
We have made all preparations to file the case in the Supreme court to vacate the stay and in all
probabilities it will be filed there by 5th feb 2002. 152 medical pg aspirants have come forward and have signed the vakalath form. Atlast students are coming out of their shells to fight for their cause, that's really heart warming . Frontline magazine in it's Feb 15th 2002 issue has published a very good article on our problems and the present scenario. Please go thro' the magazine.
Thanking you

28th January 2002
Dear Friends,
We, the members of PGA, Dr.R.R.Patil and Mr. Ravi. B. Naik had a long discussion regarding the present scenario. We all have great confidence that finally we are going to win the case in the Supreme Court. This stay given to the High Court order is only a temporary setback. From this year or at least from the next year, it has to be implemented. That should be our final goal. Maybe after losing our time, patience for this, we may feel dejected from the stay, but we shouldn't lose our hearts. Our advocates and Dr.R.R.Patil tried their level best to avoid the stay.

If not for us, let the fruits of this fight reach our brothers, sisters, friends and juniors and student community. Since the case was a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) one, Court has given the stay. If we students had directly approached the court in advance, probably this wouldn't have happened. But we never knew that such a thing was going to happen. Better late than never.

Even for this year, it's not all over. We are planning to give it a last try. After discussions with Dr.R.R.Patil and Mr. Ravi.B.Naik, we have decided to file a case in the Supreme Court from meritorious students pleading to vacate the stay. There are real
good chances of we coming through. For this, we need merit students coming forward and signing the petition form.

Our representatives will be in Hubli (Dr. Murgesh) and Bellary (Dr. Mahesh) on 29th Jan 2002. Please spread the message and make it a point to meet them and do the needful.
It's planned to collect Rs 1000/- from each petitioner for the Supreme Court proceedings. Kindly send the DDs to the PG Aspirants account. Kindly note that this will be a separate case from the main one, and so we need funds for this case. Please avoid
cheques.

Students staying close to Bangalore, or in Bangalore who are interested to be part of the petitioners are requested to come to IMA library on 29th and 30th Jan 2002 between 11.30 AM and 1.30 PM. You can enquire with the IMA library students regarding the petition form.

Thanking You,
PGA

25th January 2002
Dear friends,
We are very sorry to let you people know that private college managements have managed to get a stay to the High court order delivered by Justice Mr Bharuka and Justice Mr Sreenivas Reddy. This means to say that case proceedings will continue in the Supreme court ,but till then the High court order will be stayed and orders which were there prior to the High court order will be in force.

We are disappointed by this final turnaround as much as you people are. We are all in a state of confusion, disappointment, anger, but nothing is going to help us right now. After months of hard work and patience we are again back to square one. When the final verdict is delivered by the Supreme court it will be in the favor of merit students but for this year -?????.

Further course of action will be decided in a few days time. We would like to thank the students, interns and PG aspirants of Mysore Medical College (MMC) for their tremendous support. Except for one or two there has been 100% collections from all batches. Total collections from MMC has been around 62,000/- for the main case and around 5000/- for the High court case. It has been the college to send the highest contribution to date. Three cheers to MMC. Thank you friends

Friends,
Our case will be taken up in the Supreme Court on 25th Jan 2002. And our advocates are well prepared for the case. The lawyer who won the High Court case for us will join them. This is an important day for us since it's going have the effect on this year's admissions.
Thanks, PGA Group

18th January 2002
High court has directed the University to conduct counseling within two weeks. It may be notified in the news papers shortly. Get more details from DECCAN HERALD. Friends, we know that there was some confusion regarding the seat matrix in some news papers. Yes, there was some wrong interpretation of the court order in some dailies. In the order there was nothing of that sort. It's going to be 50-50 and not 20-80 of the seats (subject to supreme court proceedings).

Seats are going to be offered to the first 671 students(50% of the free seats of pvt colleges included) who according to the MCI regulations have qualified by securing 50% of marks in the entrance exam. After this for the remaining vacant seats, those who were beyond 671 will be considered by taking 50% of degree and 50% of entrance marks. Funds has been the major problem from day one and it's continuing even today. We once again request everyone to contribute for the cause and bail us out. Remember one thing , it is not just mine or your or someone else's problem. It's everyone's problem and can get a solution only if everyone contribute in one or the other manner. We around six people have wasted our five months of precious time, money, exams,
studies , everything on this. Please don't make us to waste another month on this.

We have received one DD of Rs 1150/- with no details of the sender. Kindly mail your details. We have received two DDs of Rs 5000/- each from Gulbarga and Belgaum. That's really heart warming, as right from day one we had concentrated on only govt. college students and here we receive some contribution from pvt colleges. That's really good. We would be very happy if students from the respective pvt colleges of Karnataka volunteer and collect funds for us. After collection you can can send DDs directly to the bank. You people will be making our job a lot easier.

Few more days of hard work will definitely coast us to victory. Dr R R Patil has taken care of the supreme court case in a splendid manner. Our job is only to help him out, which we are definitely going to do, aren't we????? we think so!

Thanking you
PGA Group
