KARNATAKA STYLE
Raw tomato chutney (green tomatoes)
Ingredients:
5-6 raw tomatoes chopped, 1 big onion chopped, 3-4 tsp
grated dry coconut, 8-10 green chilies, 8-10 garlic
cloves, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp ground nuts (fried
& skin removed), 1 tsp fried channa dal (puffed channa
dal), coriander leaves, curry leaves, salt to taste
and jaggery as per taste.
Method:
Fry tomatoes, onion, green chilies, garlic, cumin
seeds, dry coconut, fried channa dal, and curry leaves
with little oil till it becomes brown. Grind all the
fried ingredients with salt, coriander leaves, fried
groundnuts and jaggery to fine paste. Serve with chapattis
or jawar rotis.
