City Sights
669 kms from Bangalore, is the tiny district of Bidar, steeped in history. The capital of the Bahamani kingdom and later the Barid Shahi dynasty, Bidar has many places of architectural and historical interest. The Bidar Fort with five darwazas (gates) leads into a town nestled within the ramparts.

Rangeen Mahal
Once the royal residence has elaborately carved wooden pillars, Persian couplets engraved in encaustic tiles and exquisite mother-of-pearl inlay work. The Madarasa of Muhammad Gawan and the tombs of the Bahamani and Barid kings deserve a visit.

Bidriware
Bidar is also famous for Bidriware a distinct and exquisite craft of this district

Basavakalyan
80 kms away, this was the capital of the later Chalukyas in the 10th century. Nearby is the Citadel and served as the capital of the Chalukyas. Inside is the Government Museum and the Rangeen Mahal and the Mosque. The Gaddigers or memorial shrines in and around Basavakalyan are consecrated to the Virashaiva teachers. Basavakalyan is remembered for the saints who made their home- Basaveshwara, Akka Mahadevi, Channabasvanna and Siddharama.

HUMANABAD
52 kms from Bidar, is a famous pilgrim Centre.  It attracts thousands of devotees during the Veerabhadreshwara jatra, held for 7 days during January–February.
