Shri Vedavyasa Samputa Narasimha: Subrahmanya Kshetra
It is said that the Vedavyasa Samputa and the image of Lakshmi Narasimha handed over to Shri Madhvacharya by Shri Vedavyasa are of paramount importance. It is said that Ganapathy had been installed and worshiped in this shrine in olden days. But now the idol of Ganapathy is in the inner Mantapam of the shrine of Shri Subrahmanya. Shree Vishnumurthy Temple in Kulai, Mangalore
As per the opinion of Shri Gururaj Bhatt, a well-known archeologist and historian in South Kanara, the age of the statue dates back to 600 years. Initially, there was no temple complex, but Mr. Venkatramana Hebbar, found a small shrine in ruining stage midst of shrubs and forest resident, around 1911. Read On
Sri Kshethra Bappanadu, Mulki
This temple is situated in the banks of Shambhavi River at Bappanadu village of Mulki town. It is 29 K.M. north to Mangalore along the National Highway No.17. The main deity of the temple is Goddess Shree Durgaparameshwari. Bappanadu means Bappa's village and as per the legend Bappa a Muslim merchant is supposedly responsible for the temple construction. Annual festival (Brahma Rathotsava) of the temple falls in the month of April. Bappanadu Dolu (a percussion drum) is well known and there is a large drum that is kept in the side of the temple. Shree Durga Parameshwari Temple, Kateel
Kateel is a sacred place for Hindus in Dakshina Kannada. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga Parameshwari. The holy temple is situated in the middle of a sacred river. The temple is surrounded by panoramic scenes and fascinating greeneries. The devotees get overwhelmed with pious emotions when they glance at the flowing water in the river, which embraces all around the lower layer of the temple. Shri Kshethra Polali
Puliapura is its Sanskrit name. In Kannada this is called Polali. It is believed that King Suratha got the temple constructed, installed the image and placed his own crown on the head of the image. This is an ancient temple. This temple has been alluded to in the Ashokan inscriptions and in the reports of the foreign travelers who visited India. Queen Chennammaji of Keladi visited Polali and got a grand chariot constructed for the temple. Read On

Main deity Lord Anantha Padmanabha in the main sanctum is faced towards west. Naga Bana (place of serpent deity) though situated in eastern portion of the temple it is also faced towards west. Shri Mookambika Kshetra, Kollur
The installation of the idol at Mookambika temple has a history as ancient as about 1200 years. As suggested by Rani Chennammaji, the feudal lord by name Halugallu Veera Sangayya has covered the inside of the temple with stone. When we look at the temple structure, we find the sanctorum, then entrance hall and then the Lakshmi Mantapa. Udupi Shri Krishna Temple
Udupi is famous for its Sri Krishna Mutt, which though small is quite beautiful. There is no front door to this mutt. Instead there is a window through which once could always get the darshana of the idol from outside the mutt. The main entrance to the Mutt is on the southern side. Sri Subrahmanya Kshethra
It has been learnt from books and legends that Subrahmanya used to be called Kukke Pattana in the past. In the 'Shankara Vijaya' Anandagiri observed that Sri Shankaracharya camped here for a few days during his religious expedition. Shankaracharya referred to this place as 'Bhaje Kukke Lingam' in his 'Subrahmanya Bhujangaprayata Stotram' makes the above evidence all the more convincing.
