We get quite a few emails from
our visitors every single day. Some are requests, some are reporting problems,
some contribute their poems, articles, movie reviews, some want to help us, some
are sick and tired of us!. Feedback are usually good.. sometimes really good and
very rarely outright nasty.
OurKarnataka.Com (OKC) Team
would like to say "Thank you, All!!" and we apologize if you didn't
get any response for your email. We try to answer as many emails as we possibly
can and we have tried very hard to reply as soon as possible and to everyone.
Since the whole show is managed in our spare-time some of you may not have
received a reply.
So, we have decided to publish
at least a few of the feedbacks in a page. We would also rate a "feedback
of the month" and hopefully send out a prize!!
Yours

of a Language
Comments : yes, I feel Kannada has lost it's prominence especially in Bangalore.
Also regarding jobs in IT sector kannadigas are deprived of it. the only
solution is some percent of reservation should be given to kannadigas in Bangalore.
In tamilnadu , kannadigas are not treated equally where as those people are
enjoying more privileges in Kannada land.

Subject : Dalitara
Sathyanarayana Pooje
Comments : This is the comment regarding Narendra Nayak's article "Dalithara
Sathyanarayana Pooje". I am very happy that he is trying his best to
eradicate the caste system. However, in this article he has also mentioned about
an woman who was ill-treated by the temple trustee. Everyday, upper caste people
are ill-treated in the name of reservation based on castes. Why Mr. Nayak can
not see this? Are the upper caste people are not Indians? Are they not human
beings? Do they not deserve to get the seat / post whatever they need by merit?
While analyzing the facts, it should be both ways. Mr. Nayak should find out the
ways to eradicate this also. Otherwise there is no meaning for the Social
Justice. Please do not mistake my feedback as anti-dalits. My concern is we
should be like other countries where there is no such dirty system of either
caste based discrimination as well as caste based reservation.

Dear Sir, I like your articles very much. It gives bright light on all kinds of
myths that we have in our culture. I still do not understand what is the secret
behind Thumb Impression Astrology (You might have already heard about them) that
are there in Bangalore (Malleswaram), Tamil Nadu and other places. Even my
father went there and all they did was taken thumb impression and found some
palm leaf match, they at least tell lot of things about his past life and family
history and few other things. Can you please provide some light on this in your
future articles. Thank you, Shashi

Comments : Hello, Talking about the socio-economic status during the Hoysalas,
there is an article about Shankaracharya/Ramanujacharya. The title starts off
talking about Sri Shankaracharya but after a paragraph, its mixed up with an
article about Ramanujacharya. This is repeated twice. Could you post a proper
article which describes the works of Shankaracharya, Madhva and Ramanujacharya
and their influence in Karnataka. Thanks - Sandhya

B.s.chandrashekhar Bowling & his achievements.Still I could not see any
better bowler, shane varne, Abdul khadir even Our Kumble as confident as he was. Some
times, it was also fun to watch Prasanna's bowling. Above said bowlers are good
but Chandra was better with the turn, swing, and flight.
It may be becaus eof generation gap, modern tactics of good batting etc, I don't
know. I liked B.s Chandra a lot. Thanks for the details.

marinate meat in vinegar and salt. And in last line you have indicated add

Reading his columns keeps me close to our 'sanskrithi'.
I want to know if I can get English

reading Mr. Venkataramu's column's will help my son know about our sanskrithi

Comments : Please remove the - "Best viewed in internet explorer "
thing.. from websites.. and also remove all dependencies on proprietary
software. Why are you limiting yourself to some people? Thousands and millions
of websites use the UTF-8 encoding. This is an extremely portable way of sharing
and transferring Multilanguage data, There are many people who surf on "Mozilla
firefox" web browser on Linux and other platforms.. Many people surfing
using their mobile phones.. and many other people using the internet in
unimaginable ways. We need to accept worldwide accepted standards like UTF.. and
not restrict ourselves to some of the products from one company. If you want
more details of how to be standards based you can just email me and i will be
happy to help you more. Whatever is there in the website that makes it depend on
internet Explorer? If your website is dependant on one particular companies
browser, that is a shame on your part! It shows that you don't properly follow
standards..

Hi,
iam staying overseas , i usually read this paper , whenever i get free time.
The article about soundarya
was really fantastic and memorable .I like soundarya very much because of her natural acting and
decent performance on the screen . I have never seen her on screen in bad role.
i agree with all of you , that , she was really dominated one more great actress "kalpana" .
eventhough i could not able to see her last movie "apthamithra" , i can imagine how well she gave her
100% contribution to her role.
unfortunately she is no more with us, but her memories are always evergreen with all of us.
I would like to say about soundarya in one sentence " soundarya was devathe , and devathe don't have
death " .
she will come back , i believe in re-incarnation.

Usha avare,
Your article has
a very good point of view. I always thought that Rama, who is revered as God, never really rose
above a common man. his personality was never worthy of a God. He tried to be a good son for his
father and kingdom, But he really didnt attain any godly virtues. Still we worship him just
because he is one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Maybe men thought just because he was
faithful to Seetha, only one woman (To be faithful to one single woman is not a natural male
quality), women thought, he conquered his utmost weakness? Maybe thats why he deserved that
respect from women?

Subject : Land allotment to Infosys
Comments :
Sir,
Many of us struggle all our loves in order to be able to afford a
housing plot. The state government has sanctioned 300 acres of land to Infosys
in Yelahanka and another 50 acres in the hitech city. Is this generosity
on the part of the government commensurate with the company's contribution to
the local population? The government and the corporates have been ignoring
a great opportunity to develop other regions of our state.

Comments :
Dear Mr. Indrajit
I would like to give some comment on your recent writings "Kavishailadalli
ninthu dyanisidaga"
In Shabana case there should be a modification needed. But I don’t think for this case a separated
woman would be get monthly basis financial help. Holy Quran says if a man wants separate his spouse
(if all the doors are closed to get together them) must be give to her best financial help at once, not
regularly. Why because if she wants marry some one else further, it should not be dominate her ex husband
in future by assisting financially and un predictably domination once again. So the concept of Islam
gives freeness to the woman. But Quran stresses woman must be paid best of her future life at once, if
her to get to be separated. Here one more thing I want to clear that Prophet Muhammad himself also had
no right to modify the Quran then how can his successor have right to modify the Quran. Its entirely
matter of the belief of revelation from the God and it is perfect for all the time. Quran itself claims
that it is the un doubted revelation from the God. Same kind of sayings never claimed any other
scriptures before. So a man cannot make any changes in his revelation. I think you may get my point.
