For a film maker Short Films are like a stepping stone to making Feature films. It is the platform to hone his skills as a writer and director. Short films are also unique as they give you creative liberty to think and do things which you cannot do in a feature length film. Yuga Creations are a very active group of talented individuals who are producing short films and screening them regularly.
Bhagavanta Kai kotta is the fourth short film produced by Yuga Creations. Shot on Panasonic AJ - HVX 2000 P2 HD camera by DOP Paramesh C M, Bhagavata Kai Kotta was an experimental short film written and directed by Abhijit Mahesh... It was shot in three days in and around bengaluru city. Since most of the film was shot outdoors, lights were not used for the shoot.

All the actors were well prepared for the role as most of them are my friends says Abhijit Mahesh. Shooting this film was a refreshing change from shooting films on a handy cam. Yuga’s previous three films were shot on handy cam.
Hence shooting on a P2 Camera was entirely a new experience. Shot in 720 progressive mode the film look was achieved in the post.

Editing this film was a very nice experience for me. The concept itself was very interesting to start with. We edited the film on Final Cut Studio at Framekraft Edit. We had a blast working on this film as the director Abhijit Mahesh, who also has acted as GOD in the film had a terrific sense of comedy. He was also very sure about the look and feel of the film. Music by Abhishek Narain complemented perfectly to the film. The film was later color corrected to achieve the final film look.
Bhagavanta Kai Kotta was screened at “Chitra Santhe”, a short film festival organized by Yuga Creations. The film premiered with a thunderous response by a capacity audience in the theatre.
Yuga Creations plan to screen the film in USA this year.
