curry (Chicken curry)
Ingredients
1 kg chicken cut into medium sized pieces 1 tbsp coriander
seeds 2 tsp chilli powder ½ tsp turmeric One medium-sized
lemon, juiced ½ tsp cumin seeds 1 piece cinnamon 4 cloves
½ tsp poppy seeds 1 medium bunch coriander leaves 1
large onion, sliced 1 piece ginger 5 cloves garlic 2
cups water ½ grated coconut ¼ cup oil Salt to taste
Preparation
1. Grind the coriander seeds, chilli powder, turmeric,
cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, garlic, ginger, poppy
seeds and coriander leaves smoothly. Grind the coconut
separately.
2. Heat oil in a degchi, and add the onions and fry
lightly. Add the ground masala, salt and fry well. When
the raw smell goes add the chicken and fry. Add water
and cook till done.
3. Add the ground coconut and stir gently. Then add
the lemon juice.Remove from fire and serve hot.
