People: Green Gandhian Sundarlal Bahuguna still fiery at 95!
Why did not the Chipko movement become popular in the rest of the country? As I always say, environmental activism is not about fame or money. It is all about dedication, devotion and determination. Where are such youth today? The desire to make a change should be deep-rooted. Green activism is about uprooting from urban life and staying among the people who are affected and sharing their difficulties. Read On
K. B. Ganapathy: To Sir, With Love... And from Sir, a smack!
And the invite had the bombastic bottom line: "God could not be everywhere, so he created mothers." Well, I would add to this what our busy God might have forgotten: Mother could not be everywhere, so she created schools. After the school is created with play home, LKG and UKG before a child is really put on line to regular school, the poor mother is really liberated. It is such a great relief, especially, for a working mother. Read On
Vikram Muthanna in Black & White: Our Cash, But in their Stash!
We must not fail to notice how our government is taking its own sweet time in requesting for the documents. The delay almost seems intentional. The intent being — give time for tax evaders to move their money out. By the time our sleuths get the required documentation through, all we are going to get are account numbers with no money or name in them. Everyone is safe. It’s a win - win for both parties. What an idea Sirji?! Read On

Dr. K. Javeed Nayeem: The Nadir or the peak of greatness?
We call ourselves civilised and announce to the rest of the world that we were the ones who first rocked the cradle of civilisation. We also claim to be riding on the wave of a cultural and economic revolution right now. But it is significant to note here that every wave has a nadir and a peak. I am tempted to ask at which one of these two points on this wave do we Indians stand today? Read On
Politics: Congress should recall the Rolls Royce Joke
A rich man buys a Rolls Royce and drives it away from the showroom. After 10 - km, the car stalls. He summons the engineers. After inspecting the car, they say, "Sorry, sir, there is no engine." The surprised man asks, "Then how did it run this far?" "On the company’s reputation, sir." Unlike the Rolls Royce, the Congress party is blissfully unaware that it is still “running” on its past reputation. The party did have a reputation in its early past and an honest one at that! People were proud to vote for the Congress back then. But that reputation has been showing signs of cracks. Read On
Niranjan Shenoy: "........aur Raja ko praja kabhi dhoka nahin de sakti"
When such has been the extent of loot, when such is the attitude of the elected leaders towards the citizens and governance, when there are Adarsh and CWG scams being unearthed day in and day out, it is only time for the people to keep political allegiance aside for once. The talk of the party ideology which is used as a weapon to lure the common man at the grass root is diluted to the core as it creeps upwards. Looting of money, public wealth, land, nepotism, frauds become the common ideology of all parties. Read On

To Radiocity FM with love and disgust.
Of late, they have started broadcasting Kannada songs. This is done in the evening during the weekdays in a programme called Hotair. They broadcast some 4-5 songs, that's it. This is really bad. The issue here is not just about Kannada songs but it should be seen in a broader sense. It is about the bias against Kannada by Radiocity. When a full 4 hours can be dedicated for Old Hindi songs(11 O'clock show), 15 hours for English music and the rest for new Hindi music, is it impossible to dedicate 2-3 hours for the local language. This is my point. Read On
